RAIN FOREST
The rain forest is a dense, evergreen forest found in tropical regions with high rainfall throughout the year. In Nigeria, the rain forest is primarily located in the southern part, particularly in the Niger Delta and parts of the Southwest. These forests are characterized by tall trees, a thick canopy, and a rich diversity of plant and animal species. The climate is humid and warm, with annual rainfall averaging between 1,500 to 2,000 millimeters. The rain forest plays a crucial role in maintaining biodiversity, regulating the climate, and supporting local communities with resources like timber, medicinal plants, and food. However, it faces threats from deforestation, logging, and agricultural expansion.
