DISTANCE AND BEARING

Distance is the measure of space between two points, usually expressed in units like meters or kilometers. Bearing is the direction of one point from another, measured in degrees from the north in a clockwise direction. Bearings are written as three-digit numbers, such as 045° or 270°, where 000° represents due north, 090° is east, 180° is south, and 270° is west. Bearings are commonly used in navigation, surveying, and mapping to determine precise directions and locations.
