LOWLANDS

Lowlands refer to areas of land that are situated at relatively low elevation compared to surrounding regions, often near sea level. These areas are typically flat or gently sloping and are commonly found in valleys, coastal plains, and river basins. Lowlands tend to have fertile soil due to the deposition of sediments by rivers, making them ideal for agriculture and human settlement. They also tend to have milder climates and abundant water resources, which support a wide variety of ecosystems. In many countries, lowlands are densely populated and economically important for activities such as farming, transportation, and trade.
